Takashi Murakami

I chose this sculpture because it's unique form and the way it is being balanced. I like how it gives off two different themes. One is a more dark theme because of its monster form, and on the other hand it's gold and majestic appearance. He used 354 eyes, 105 whiskers, and 1,200 teeth in this work. This piece of art, "The Birth Cry of a Universe", is part of his "In the land of the dead, stepping on the tail of a rainbow". This theme is rather dark and is based from the Fukushima nuclear disaster. This piece stood out to me because, personally I wasn't a fan of his anime sculptures.
