I chose this sculpture by Murakami because of while looking through his artwork, I think this piece shows his art style in once piece. Like most of his other pieces, this sculpture embodies a quirky and psychedelic character that is standing on top of a globe of smiling flowers. Although some may believe this style of art is rather childish, I can appreciate the thought and artistry behind these works of art. Murakami is known as the Warhol of Tokyo, which connects his masterful pop art technique complimented with pops of bright colors with Warhol's similar style. I also recognized some of Murakami's pieces from social media and from collaborations with celebrities such as Kanye West.
