Open Your Hands Wide, Embrace Happiness 2010
Murakami is known for his works that combine Pop, animé, and otaku within a stylized picture-plane. He’s the founder of the postmodern art movement, “Superflat,” which combines elements of Japanese culture with the flattening of the image, which connects back to early Japanese printmaking from the 19th century. I like this photo because it’s abstract art and it does reminds me of spring. It creates a very joyful, happy feeling hence the title.
