Louise Bourgois

This piece is known as The Destruction of the Father which was one of Bourgois's first installation pieces. This sculpture portrays Bourgois's anger for her father. This piece of artwork is portraying how she would want to take revenge on her father who would always brag and gloat at the dinner table. This entire piece stuck out to me because as I was reading about it I noticed she stated that the soft red light symbolizes anger, death, and blood. This was her way of truly expressing her hatred for her father in such a violent manner. I also liked how it was different from the rest of her artwork. This one really caught my attention and I think the back story is quite interesting.
