Louise Bourgeois
This is the spider also called Maman sculpture by Louise Bourgeois. It was made in 1996, as an edition of six and cast in 1997. The sculpture was made in bronze with silver nitrate patina. The first edition was made with steel. It was acquired by the Denver Art Museum for it's new addition in 2006. I picked this sculpture because of how unique and amazing it is. It looks like it took a very log time to develop and design due to how tall and detailed it is. This sculpture reminded me of the movie spider in 2002 and was very creepy how similar the Maman sculpture was to the big spiders in the movie.
