Continuous Happiness: Li Hongbo
Li Hongbo experiments by creating art with simple material that successfully captivates the viewer's imagination. He draws in the idea that one is looking at something beautiful, as they are not instantly aware of a hidden representation. When first glance at his piece, Continuous Happiness (Pair) 2011, we see a functional looking vase. The viewer's perception is skewed as the vase quickly turns into an abstract, curving form. Using just paper and ink, Hongbo was able to test one's reality in this illusion; igniting imagination through reinterpretation.
