Wooden Pier '12 Li Hongo

Li Hongbo made this sculpture called the 'Wooden Pier' in 2012. Hongbo use to be an editor and designer in the book industry. That is what inspired him to use single sheets of paper glued and cut into the honeycomb shape to make his sculptures come to life. I chose this art piece because it looks like an actual piece of wood. You never would've guessed it is made from paper. It is actually very ironic. He used a dead tree's wood that was processed into paper, to make a wood sculpture. That is a full 360. He adds so much detail and colors into this sculpture, every detail is just as perfect as a hard piece of wood. Plus, it is absolutely incredible that he can make his sculptures come to life by having them move.
