Louise Bourgeois

This piece of artwork created by Bourgeois is called “The Blind Leading the Blind.” Louise Bourgeois constructed this form of artwork from 1947 to 1949. The pointed wooden planks attached to the flat beams are abstract forms that represents the artist’s personal feelings towards her parents. Bourgeois points out a time in her life where she felt alienated from her parents and sought protection from furniture. I like this form of art because it represents a very personal story to the artist in which she felt inspired to create art from.
