Irons for the ages, Flowers for the day is an amazing, beautiful, and deep piece created by Li Hongbo that holds much meaning. On the outside you see a colorful beautiful rainbow that radiates light and brings joy. However, Hongbo used gun shaped packs of paper than fanned them out to create this beautiful piece. He wanted this to represent the dueling aspect of war and peace. He claimed “Audiences will see a beautiful flower blooming in the space, but this image also hopefully makes people think and pay close attention to what’s underneath.” This is probably my favorite artist we have looked at by far due to his keen eye for beauty while still sending an important message in a secret form. The patience and time this must have taken is beyond me but the outcome is simply breath taking.
